Thanks
to a Home Depot Grant, a new Covered Picnic Area has just been added to
the park! It looks great and will soon be home to a nice
picnic table!
Beginning
the 2009-2010 school year, you'll be able to check out helmets and
skateboards from the High Valley Community Center - 1210 Grande Ave -
for use at the Skateboard Park!
- After years of hard work, lots of
effort and fundraising, HVCC received a GOCO grant to build the park.
- The
Del Norte Skateboard Park Project worked with Nancy and Peter
Christie of Rocky Mountain Recreation to order the park components from
a company in Minneapolis called SkateWave.
- SLV Quality
Concrete
and Matthias Concrete laid the concrete pad.
- The parts arrived
and Ken McCallister organized and worked with local
volunteers.
- The Volunteers
worked on assembling all the parts - In all they screwed in 2,500
screw, saving the project $10,000.00.
- Dale
Weaver of Weaver Construction received an honorarium for donating
boulders to protect the skateboard park from errant drivers.
